Joshua Oigara Biography: Joshua Nyamweya Oigara is a Kenyan Businessman and Banker who is the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director of Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB). He is also an accountant and a cooperative executive officer.
He has served as the CEO of KCB Bank since January 2013 after he replaced Martin Oduor Otieno in 2012. Prior to assuming the role of CEO, he was a Chief Finance Officer between 2012 and 2013. He was named as the youngest CEO of the publicly traded bank in 2012.

Joshua Oigara was born in 1975 in Kisii, Southwest of Kenya by William and Diana Oigara. Both his parents were school teachers and tea farmers at the Gesima resettlement scheme. He was brought up in Borabu until he became of age to join the school. He is 46 years as of 2021.

Joshua Oigara Educational Background.
Oigara started his early education in Kisii primary school where he sat for his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE). He then joined High school before proceeding to the University of Nairobi (UON) for his tertiary education. In 1997 he graduated from the UON with a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree, majoring in accounting, and from Strathmore University as a Certified Public Accountant.
He later went to INSEAD, a business school in Fontainebleau, France which is the world-leading and largest graduate business school for Postgraduate Management studies. Joshua furthered his studies at Fuqua school of business and also the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya, where he is a recognized Alumni.

He started working for PWC-Pricewaterhour cooperation in 1977 -2001, a leading firm that provided auditing, advisory, and tax services. In 2002, he took up employment at Bidco Africa where he was hired as a performance business manager. In 2004, he joined Bamburi Cement where he served in various positions including Business Performance Manager, Group Financial Director, and finally Chief Finance Officer.
In 2011 he became the youngest CEO of the blue-chip -company and in 2013 he landed the position of CEO at KCB. Being the youngest CEO, he had dreams of transforming the company into a successful business empire and a global brand. He, therefore, worked hard to achieve his dreams, and sure enough, his hard work paid off.

In 2018 he was appointed chairman of the Kenya Bankers Association Governing Council. As he continues to lead KCB, the biggest Bank on Kenyan land by assets value, he aims to leave a good mark in the company.
