Kisii School KCSE Results

Kisii School is a public national school for boys and doubles up as one of the best-performing schools in Kenya. The school started as an artisan primary school in 1934 and transitioned with time becoming one of the best schools to cater to the educational needs of boy child.

The school was promoted to a national school in 2012 following its stunning performance year after year. Initially, the school was a provincial school (now Extra Country) which falls in the second category of Secondary schools after the national schools.

KCSE Results 2023/24

The 2023 year was an average year for Kisii School with students registering a slight deviation compared to 2022. In 2022, they recorded a mean grade of 9.12 but this time around they went down to 8.95 which represents a B plain.

However, they managed to secure 24 straight As with a pass rate of 92%. Below is the full analysis of the 2023 KCSE results.

In 2021 their performance was a bit similar to that of 2023 averaging a mean score of 8.93. In that year they earned 20 As but 51 students failed to secure university grades. Here is the analysis of that year.

Kisii School History

The doors of Kisii School opened in 1934 starting as an Artisan school, teaching artisan courses at the Primary level. With a low turnout of the pupils, they admitted pupils in the substandard level and 15 joined the class.

In 1938 they enrolled their first candidate for Primary School Examination, at the time they had already grown to 60 pupils with two streams with 50% from the Abagusi side and 50% from the Luo side.

In 1945, the school opened its door for the secondary wing, at the time it was known as a junior secondary containing classes 7 and 8. In 1949, they started the Senior secondary school and the students at the time were doing the Kenya African Secondary School Examination (now KCSE.)

In 1956,  the school enrolled its students to the Cambridge School Certificate with a total of 60 students being registered. In 1962, the school entered the list of other 6 schools that were among the first ones to introduce the “A” Level (ART.)

The following year the school presented its first Higher School Certificate candidates which was commonly known as the “A” Level Examination. By 1967, the school population had grown to over 450 students.

Currently, the school has grown in terms of infrastructure and population hosting over 1585 students in 7 streams. Being a public national school, the school offers the 8-4-4 system.
