The Kenya Medical Training Institute (KMTC) is a government training college founded in 1927 as a health training institution. The institution commenced its operations with four students at the Kenya Institute of Administration (KIA), Kabete.
The institution’s main campus is located in Nairobi County, opposite Kenyatta National Hospital, along Old Mbagathi Road approximately 3 Kilometers from Nairobi CBD.
With a population of over 41,000 students and 76 medical courses on offer, the college currently boasts of a vast academic and scholarly excellence in the field of medicine, dispatching more than 12,000 graduates to the job market every year. This accounts for 85% of all hospital workforce in Kenya.
The unprecedented success of KMTC is attributed to unwavering support from the government, hard work and diligence from staff and students, and a sound management.
