What is a Bank?
A Bank is a financial institution licensed to receive deposits and led loans. They provide financial services such as wealth management, currency exchange, and safe deposit boxes. There are different types of banks, these include commercial/corporate banks, retail banks, exchange banks, central banks, agricultural/ co-operative banks, industrial banks, utility, and investment banks.
What is the meaning of Banking?
Banking is an industry that handles cash, credit, and other financial transactions. Banks act as safe storage to keep extra cash that is not in use at the moment. They also offer savings accounts, deposits, withdrawals, and balance checking. The banks use the deposited money to make loans, invest and earn profit. These loans come in form of home mortgages, business loans, car loans, real estate, and other types of loans.

Most of the banks in Kenya have adopted mobile banking technology. Nowadays it is very easy to access banking services; from your mobile phone, you can make a deposit, withdrawal, money transfer, check balance, and other financial services that banks offer. Most of the banks in Kenya have partnered with Safaricom M-PESA Mobile Banking which has proved to be very convenient ahead of other mobile banking agencies. A small fee is charged for these transactions by most of the banks.
