Kakamega Homeboyz Players; Homeboyz (Vijana wa Nyumba) as they are well known is one of the most uprising teams in the Kenya Premier League. The club was founded in 2010 and rose to ranks until it received its call to join the Kenya Premier League in 2016.
In addition, it’s also among the team that has tasted the wrath of relegation, after playing one season in the top league. The Homeboyz were first promoted to the top league in 2013 following a successful season in the FKF league in 2012.
However, the team never got a chance to play in the 2014 season as they were pounded mercilessly and they were returned back to the National Super League.
In 2015 they worked their way up and reclaimed their spot in the top league for the 2016 season. Since then the club has been displaying stunning performances, as of 2022 the Boyz club from Kakamega is leading the table points with 59 goals.
Being the only club based in the Western region where football is highly valued, the club enjoys massive support from that region. Apart from AFC Leopard, Kakamega Homeboyz is the only team with a cult-like following in the “Mulembe nation”.
Since AFC Leopard could not accommodate all talented players from the Western part of Kenya, Kakamega Homeboyz served as the savior of young talents.

However, it’s believed to be among the richest teams in Kenya. With a string of high-profile players, it’s believed they earn an estimated salary of Kes 50k to 70k.
