Having pursued law she was hired as a Legal Assistant by one of the leading Kenyan Bank, Cooperative Bank of Kenya. Since sports blood was flowing through her veins, she used to juggle between sports and law.

Mokami was working as a Legal advisor from Monday to Friday, after that, she headed to Capital FM where she was a football analyst for Saturday Sports as well as a Football Sunday.

In 2016, she decided to follow one path, surprisingly she opted to follow sports, joining Bamba Sports, the first 24hours sports station. Mukami was a pioneer presenter and producer of the station alongside other three journalists.

In 2017, she secured a spot at Citizen TV, Kenya’s most-watched Television. Her career in sports took an uptrend curve when she joined Citizen TV, working alongside Mike Okinyi and Benard Ndong

In 2018, she was privileged to cover the 2018 World Cup in Russia, the same year she was entrusted with the 2018 Berlin Marathon coverage. During the coverage, she managed to have an interview with world Marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge after he clinched the world record.

Mukami also covered the 2018 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. In 2019, she headed to Austria in Europe to cover the historic 2019 INEOS Challenge where Kipchoge made history after he became the first man to run a marathon under two hours. After recording a storage time of 1:59:40.2, Mukami got a chance to interview him for the second time.

Mukami has been able to meet and interview some of the football legends including, Thierry Henry, a former Arsenal star, Ronaldinho Gaucho, Rio Ferdinand, a former Manchester United Veteran, and others.
