Nana Gecaga is a notable Kenyan Businesswoman and a corporate executive. Currently serving as the CEO of the Kenyatta International Convention Center KICC.
KICC is one of the tallest buildings in Nairobi with a magnificent rooftop with a perfect view of the city. The building is owned by the government and it was recently turned into a parastatal and placed under the Ministry of Tourism.
Away from her excellent performance in her work, she is well known as the niece to H.E Uhuru Kenyatta, the fourth President of Kenya. Her appointment was highly influenced by her extensive experience in the Tourism sector.

Nana Gechaga belongs to Kenyatta’s family, Kenya’s first family. She is the second-born daughter of Jeni Wambui and Udi Gecaga. Her mother Jane is the daughter to the late President Jomo Kenyatta.
She is the niece of the fourth President of Kenya H.E Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta. She hails from the Kikuyu Community. Nana has two siblings her Elder sister Soiya Gicaga and a younger brother Jomo Gicaga.

She moved to the United State while she was young where she joined Cushing Academy, one of the best schools at the age of seven. According to her studying abroad was not a privilege.
In a candid interview, she narrated how she was bullied since she was from an African Country and her classmates were wondering how she joined the school without a scholarship.
As for her higher education, she holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the American InterContinental University in London, United Kingdom.

Currently, she is not married and she has not disclosed much about her current love life. Initially, she was married to former Mathare mp Stephen Kariuki the son of Bishop Margaret Wanjiru and the late Kamangu.
The two stayed together for over 5years before going their separate ways. The two share three kids.

Career
Prior to her current position, she had worked in International Marketing and tourism sector in different positions. In 2009, she was acclaimed for the successful bid to host the 2009 MTV Africa Music Awards. Where she played a huge role in the success of the event.
Nana has also worked as the Head of Marketing at KICC. After that, she became the Marketing and Special Programmes Advisor to the Cabinet Secretary of Tourism.
On April 1st, 2016, she was officially appointed as the Managing Director and Chief excutive office at Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC). However, at the time she was appointed to serve in an acting capacity pending the selection of a substantive CEO.
KICC is one the biggest building in Nairobi, it holds government meetings and big conferences. In addition, it also holds government offices including senators’ offices.
As the CEO she oversees all the business conducted within the Building. She is also in charge of advancing the quality of conference facilities and increasing the number of events to make the office more profitable.
Furthermore, in 2018, she was appointed as the deputy chairperson of the African chapter of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA).
Despite being a successful businesswoman much is not known about her ventures in the business world.
