Dr. Rashid Abdi Aman is the second Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Health Kenya. He is also a scientific researcher and a businessman. He serves alongside CAS Mercy Mwangangi who is a recent member of the public service but also the first CAS in the Ministry of Health. Dr. Aman Career
In 1995, Aman was appointed as the custodian of Hedida Post Doctoral Fellowship at the School of Medicine, Stanford University at Stanford California. In 1988, he joined the National Cancer Institute of the NIH at Frederick in Maryland, US as a Fogarty Visiting Associate.
Currently, Aman serves as the Chairman of the Kenya National Commission for UNESCO. He is also a Council member of the Taita Taveta University, an Honorary Research Professor at Strathmore University and a Senior Research Affiliate at the National Museums of Kenya.
He has served as Director on various Boards including Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and National Museums of Kenya (NMK).

Back in 2019, Dr. Aman was thrown into mourning after he lost his father the late Mzee Abdi Aman. President Uhuru Kenyatta was one of the state officials who sent messages of condolences to the family of Dr Rashid Aman.
Mzee Aman was also the father of former PS Dr. Mohamed Isahakia. He (Mzee) died at the age of 92 years.
