Almost 60% of women have used their products but despite this very few people know the tycoon behind this multi-million enterprise. In this article, we give more details about the little-known owner of the bestlady cosmetics supermarket, we will also highlight other businesses venture he/she is involved in.
Who Owns Bestlady Cosmetics?
The company was founded in 1998 by Peter Njoroge Karanja and Tecklah Magema Lenjo, trading under the name Bestlady. The two founded their headquarters in the Funzi Industrial area where they stayed for a decade.
In 2008, the company underwent a transition going from Bestlady to Bestly. On top of that, they also moved their headquarters from Funzi in the Industrial area all the way to Mombasa road.
After relocation, the company went on to spread its wings opening branches in different towns other than Nairobi. Despite the success of the company and massive transformation, the owner of the company has still maintained a low profile.
The Managing Director of the company serves as the head of the organization, then below him, there is the Administrative and Operations Director.
Peter Njoroge Karanja’s name came into the limelight a few years ago after he was linked to the murder of Tob Cohen. Before that, the businessman had sued Mombasa county for denying them the chance to use their long-time trademark colors on the wall.
This was after the Mombasa County government gave a directive for all the buildings within the town to be painted white. This directive could have denied them the right to use their bright pink colors. The businessman went on to win the case as the Mombasa High Court judge ruled in their favor.
